Dr. Jonathan P. Cargo Therapeutic Optometrist/Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Cargo was raised in Plano, Texas. He earned his bachelors of science in molecular biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997. He spent one year working closely with Joel N. Leffler, M.D., a pediatric ophthalmologist, before starting his graduate work at Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL. During his time in Florida he had externships at the Malcolm Randall Veterans Affairs Hospital in conjunction with the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL., Visual Health and Surgery Center in Lake Worth, FL., and the Broward Optometry Clinic in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Dr. Cargo and his family returned to the Dallas metroplex in August 2002 and has been practicing at Cargo Eye Associates serving over ten thousand patients. Dr. Cargo and his staff has recently moved to combine a state-of-the-art eye care with an unsurpassed optical department at Cargo Eye Care of Las Colinas. Dr. Cargo specializes in ocular therapeutics and disease treatment. He has an extended scope license that allows him to prescribe oral medications as well as treat glaucoma.
Dr. Cargo is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), serves on the board of executives of Texas Optometric Association (TOA), serves as the treasurer of the Dallas County Optometric Society (DCOS), and Irving Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Cargo is happily married to a speech pathologist and they have 3 small children. |
